By Bush-Crazy Adventurers.

BosBevok was born in the Southern African bush—where campfires crackle, brandy flows freely, and stories of wild adventures echo into the night. It’s more than just a blog—it’s inspiration for those who want to live rugged, roam wide, and feel most at home off the beaten track.

The name BosBevok says it all. In Afrikaans, “bos” means bush, and “bevok” is local slang for something crazy, wild, or epic. Put them together and you get Bush-Crazy—a name that perfectly captures the spirit of those who live for the wild, chase the horizon, and thrive where the tar ends and the trail begins.
I am Craig Mitchell—a qualified field guide, explorer, and storyteller—BosBevok was inspired by a life lived outdoors: on muddy trails, through remote game reserves, across borders and backroads. It’s my tribute to the real adventurers who wear their dust with pride and believe a day spent in nature is a day well spent.

I am the founder and editor of KhakiBush Magazine, a free digital publication dedicated to Africa’s people, wild places, and the gear that gets you there. With real bush stories, travel inspiration, and honest gear reviews, the magazine connects a growing tribe of outdoor lovers across the continent. I am also a proud partner in the Great Outdoors Expo, KwaZulu-Natal’s premier outdoor and 4x4 lifestyle exhibition.

BosBevok is my behind-the-scenes adventure hub — the place where wild moments, raw stories, and real outdoor grit come to life. Fueled by a passion for the untamed and an obsession with authenticity, BosBevok turns off-road chaos, campfire moments, and bush adventures into compelling stories that inspire, connect, and celebrate those who live life wide open.

BosBevok is for the wild at heart—for those who braai hard, live free, and earn their cred one trail at a time.

Here’s to being BosBevok.
